eRecycling Collection

The Piatt County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Lincoln Heritage Resource Conservation and Development Council are coordinating an electronic recycling collection.  We are working with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Recycling for Illinois Inc. and good neighbors like you.

We will place all of the items to be recycled into a secure trailer until they can be further processed for transportation to the processing site.

The processing site evaluates all of the donated equipment with the view of putting it back into service and/or recycling the components.

* Removes all of your data from the computer, refurbishes it, and installs a new operating system and office software.

* Works with various agencies to place the refurbished equipment in places of need where it will return to a useful purpose.

* When the equipment is beyond repair or incapable of running the current software it is recycled.  The components are disassembled, collected in separate commodity types and reprocessed so they can become new products.

* The goal of the processing site is the same as yours, to keep it out of the landfill.
